You've brought your very first packet of PINK tea and your excited to make your first cup to sit down to enjoy its delicate aroma in the comfort of your own home. So you pop the kettle on, boil the water, pop the loose leaf tea leaves in your favorite tea pot, and pour the water in before leaving it to brew for a few minutes.
Easy as that right?
Oh my goodness, not at all, and i'm not even sorry to say its not that easy because honestly this PINK tea is so special it deserves just a little more attention before sitting down to enjoy it's magical charms
So how do i brew PINK tea then?
First and foremost
Know that you CANNOT use boiling water on PINK tea. It will not only destroy the host of health benefits lurking in every tiny minute piece of tea leave but it will also destroy the delicate taste and beautiful pink color, and you'll likely end up with an orange looking brew instead.
Instead you need to brew this delicate PINK tea at 85 - 90 degree's
Our experts at O&M tea suggest pouring the boiled water into your teapot and leave the water to cool for 3-6 mins before adding the loose leaf tea.
You can also stop the kettle just before it reaches boiling, or you can pop a little cool water in the teapot to reduce the waiting time
Next up
Always add the water to the tea pot first, then add the tea leaves
But don't leave your tea leaves brewing too long, just like any tea it will over steep and create a bitter tasting brew.
The perfect time to brew PINK tea is 1.5 - 2 mins
Another O & M tip is NOT to stir the tea leaves around in the tea pot to try and speed up the brew or get a stronger color! Simply let the tea sit and bounce around in the water and let it work its magic
